Understanding your Readers page
For authorsUpdated 2 min read
Studio, Readers answers one question per tab in plain words: Overview (followers, monthly readers, monthly reach), Followers (recent followers and the tastes they chose to make public), Mailing list (your email list and its export history), Journal, Books, Early copies (the campaign funnel) and Letters. Aggregated nightly; no sales figures, nothing faked.
The short answer

Analytics and Audience are now one page, Studio › Readers. Each tab answers one question, and a number appears in one place.
Overview: the headline numbers
- Followers: people who keep you in their feed. Exact and current, with the last 30 days charted day by day.
- Monthly readers: unique readers who took at least one significant reading action tied to your pen name in a rolling 30-day window (shelving, progress, a review). Profile visits and post views do not count, and neither does your own activity.
- Monthly reach: unique people who saw your profile or posts in the same window, deduplicated across both. Signed-in viewers are counted exactly, visitors per day.
Each chart carries a plain-language line saying what its number means. Everything but followers is aggregated nightly, so a brand-new pen name sees Not enough data yet or a note that the first rollup has not run. Nothing is estimated or faked, and there are no sales figures: Booklabria sells no books.
The other tabs
- Early copies: the campaign funnel: everyone who asked for a copy, applications you accepted, approved readers who fetched the file, downloads that became published reviews, and reviewers who now follow you; with the on-time review rate once your campaigns have produced reviews.
- Journal: posting cadence (posts per day) and what lands (top entries by reactions).
- Books: reviews per book and each book's trend.
- Letters: how your letters reach readers (Letters as e-mails, their analytics, and your subscribers).
Followers and Mailing list
The Followers tab shows your recent followers and readers by favorite genre (only tastes a follower chose to make public; nothing is inferred). The Mailing list tab holds your subscribers: followers who ticked the box for your letters by e-mail (Letters as e-mails, their analytics, and your subscribers). The list exports as a CSV, one export an hour; every row carries the address, the day they subscribed, the export's id and the exact words the reader agreed to, and every export is recorded on the page.
Where this lives
Related
- ARC delivery and tracking: You choose per campaign how readers receive the book: Read on Booklabria (the file stays on the server, readers open it on the site or in the app, and the Reading tab shows progress by chapter, who finished and where readers stop, as counts), a Protected download (signed links that expire after fifteen minutes, five downloads per approval, every EPUB watermarked) or Send to Kindle (we e-mail the watermarked EPUB to the reader's own Kindle address, five sends per approval). Tick one or more; with two or more, each approved reader picks one. Upload the EPUB or PDF on the Delivery tab; reading on Booklabria and Send to Kindle need the EPUB. The Activity tab notes approvals, downloads and reviews as they happen; the analytics funnel shows how many downloads became reviews.
- Sharing your e-mail with an author: An author never gets your e-mail address from a follow, a request or a review. The one way is the checkbox beside Follow, "Also send me the author's letters by e-mail. The author can export your e-mail address." Tick it and the author's letters arrive in your inbox and your address is in the author's export; unsubscribe from any letter in one click, or under Settings › Notifications, and the next export leaves you out.
- Following, and what you are told: Follow authors (their pen name), readers and series; their news reaches your feed and the bell, grouped and switchable per author. Notifications live under the bell, everything can be marked read at once, and e-mail is a digest, never one message per event.
- Plans, and what the beta unlocks: Readers never pay; there is no reader plan and never will be. Writing here is free forever: books, series, the Journal and followers are never limited on any plan. What the plans are for is the launch: advance-copy campaigns, the readers who come with them, and the people who help. Author (free) has one pen name and one small campaign at a time (up to 25 readers, no delivery links); Creator ($9 a month or $90 a year) runs 3 campaigns at a time with up to 100 readers each; Pro ($19 or $190) is unlimited with 5 pen names and 2 collaborators; Publisher ($59 or $590) is the imprint, billed yearly by invoice with 5 seats. A $12 campaign pass runs one campaign (up to 100 readers) without a plan, valid for 60 days from the day you buy it. The 14-day trial needs a card and starts with your first campaign or delivery link, not at signup. During the closed beta nothing is charged and every author feature is unlocked.
