Identity marks: the seal, the nib, the book
One mark beside every name. A blue seal for a verified author, a plum nib for an author, a teal book for a reader. Verification asserts identity, not quality; it is granted by staff after a manual review and can be revoked.

Every name on Booklabria carries one small mark that says who is speaking: a blue seal with a check for a verified author, a plum pen nib for an author, a teal open book for a reader. Beside the name on profiles, journal entries and posts, comments and reviews, the feed, Authors, the Charts, circle member lists and search results. Only one mark ever sits beside a name. The profile page also spells the marks out as chips (Verified author, Author, Pen name (a plum feather) and Reader).
The verified seal says the profile is operated by the author it names. Identity, not quality, sales or endorsement. It is granted by staff after a manual review and can be revoked (the author is told). Readers never carry it; an unverified author carries the nib instead. There is no self-service verification; to ask for a review, send it to the team from your author account with something that ties the pen name to you.
