1. 1.Who sees what: profile visibilitySettings › Privacy sets your whole profile to public, followers only or private, and your library, reading progress, activity and follower list each on their own. 2. 2.Reporting and blockingEvery profile, post, comment, book, review and photo has Report in its menu; a human moderator reviews it. Blocking someone hides you from each other entirely, they are not told, and you can undo it under Settings › Privacy.For readers and authors · updated 2026-09-20
3. 3.Appealing a moderation decisionWhen a moderator hides a post or review, unpublishes a book, archives a Circle or suspends an account, the owner is told with the reason. 4. 4.Download your dataSettings › Privacy › Download your data builds a complete copy of your account, free, always; it is ready in a few minutes, kept for 7 days, and each download link lives about 15 minutes. 5. 5.Sharing your e-mail with an authorOn an author's page you can let that author e-mail you: a dialog shows the exact words, a confirmation e-mail seals it, the author only ever gets an export of confirmed addresses, and you can withdraw at any time under Settings › Notifications.For readers · updated 2026-09-20
