For authors
Pen names, books, series, campaigns, the Journal and Studio.
- 1.Becoming an authorA reader account becomes an author account from For authors: choose a pen name, add a short bio, and Studio opens. Your library, reviews and follows come with you; the reader-only surfaces close, and the change cannot be undone from the product. For readers and authors · updated 2026-09-20
- 2.Your pen name and public pageYour pen name is your public identity; books, series, campaigns and Journal entries attach to it. Edit its name, bios, avatar, banner, the genres you write, the languages you publish in and external links under Studio, Settings. One pen name per author account in the beta. For authors · updated 2026-09-20
- 3.Publishing your first bookCreate a book from Studio, Books, New book, with its synopsis, up to three genres and six tropes, content level and warnings, language, page count and a cover (uploaded, or a pattern with the title drawn on). It starts as a draft only you can see; set it to Coming soon (with a date) or Published when ready. Add a sample and buy links from the edit page; archiving takes it off the catalogue without deleting anything. For authors · updated 2026-09-20
- 4.Series and reading orderA series is a reading order of your books with its own public page readers can follow. Create it from Studio, Series, then Manage to add books from your catalogue and arrange them; followers are told when the next book is published. For authors · updated 2026-09-20
- 5.Running an ARC campaignStudio, Campaigns, New campaign walks through the book, dates and reader spots, ideal readers (genres, tropes, languages, regions, requirements), delivery (formats, files, your message) and how to launch (draft, scheduled, or now). Applications gather under Applications with each reader's match and reliability; approve or decline one by one or in batches, and every decision notifies the reader. For authors · updated 2026-09-20
- 6.ARC delivery and trackingUpload the campaign's EPUB or PDF on its Delivery tab; approved readers download through signed links that expire after fifteen minutes, five downloads per approval, never from a public address. The Activity tab notes approvals, downloads and reviews as they happen; the analytics funnel shows how many downloads became reviews. For authors · updated 2026-09-20
- 7.The Author JournalNew entry opens the Journal composer with fourteen formats in four groups (General; Book and Story; Launch and ARC; Community), each asking only for what it needs, an audience (Public, Followers, Only me), an optional content note that hides the entry behind a spoiler warning, and a preview. Entries can be saved as drafts under Studio, Posts, and one can be pinned to your page. For authors · updated 2026-09-20
- 8.Understanding your analyticsStudio, Analytics answers one question per chart in plain words: followers (exact and current), monthly readers (people who took a reading action in the last 30 days), monthly reach (people who saw your profile or posts), the campaign funnel, posting cadence and what lands. Audience shows recent followers, the tastes they chose to make public, and your e-mail list with its export history. Aggregated nightly; no sales figures, nothing faked. For authors · updated 2026-09-20
- 9.Promotions and eventsStudio, Promotions holds deals (a discount, a free run or a bundle, with dates, an optional book and a where-to-buy link) and events (a launch, a signing, a panel, with a place or an online link). Save one quietly or announce it; announcing notifies everyone following your pen name, and there is no unsend. For authors · updated 2026-09-20
- 10.Working with a team on a pen nameFrom Settings, Teams, the owner of a pen name invites another account by username as an Editor or a Manager; once they accept from their own Settings, Teams, they work on that pen name in Studio (books, campaigns, entries, promotions, analytics). Only the owner can invite, remove or change roles; team members can never rename or delete the pen name or see billing. For authors · updated 2026-09-20
- 11.Identity marks: the seal, the nib, the bookOne mark beside every name. A blue seal for a verified author, a plum nib for an author, a teal book for a reader. Verification asserts identity, not quality; it is granted by staff after a manual review and can be revoked. For readers and authors · updated 2026-09-20
- 12.Inviting your readersEvery author account holds five reader invites during the beta: one link, five uses, from Studio › Invite readers. A reader who arrives through it is counted as yours. For authors · updated 2026-09-20
