Every name on Booklabria carries one small mark that says who is speaking:
- a blue seal with a check: a verified author;
- a plum pen nib: an author;
- a teal open book: a reader.
It sits beside the name on profiles, Journal entries and posts, comments and reviews, the feed, Authors, the Charts, Circle member lists and search results. Only one mark ever sits beside a name. The profile page also spells the marks out as chips (Verified author, Author, Pen name (a plum feather) and Reader).
What the seal means
The verified seal says the profile is operated by the author it names. Identity, not quality, sales or endorsement. Readers never carry it; an unverified author carries the nib instead.
Getting verified
Verification is granted by staff after a manual review, and it can be revoked (the author is told). There is no self-service path: send it to the team from your author account with something that ties the pen name to you (a publisher page, a retailer author page, an ISBN record naming you). The seal also makes the Circle you host around your book an Official Author Circle.
Someone is pretending to be an author
Impersonation breaks the Community guidelines. Report the profile (Reporting and blocking); if the name is yours, say so in the report.

- Your pen name and public page: Your pen name is your public identity; books, series, campaigns and Journal entries attach to it. Edit its name, bios, avatar, banner, the genres you write, the languages you publish in and external links under Studio, Settings. One pen name per author account in the beta.
- Official Author Circles: An author starts an author circle around one of their books or series from the Circles page or the Studio; it shows the Official Author Circle mark once the author profile is verified. It works like any Circle with the author as owner, plus drop-ins and, where a video provider is connected, live sessions. "Author participating" marks a Circle the author is in but does not run.
- Reporting and blocking: Every profile, post, comment, book, review and photo has Report in its menu; a human moderator reviews it. Blocking someone hides you from each other entirely, they are not told, and you can undo it under Settings › Privacy.
