Notifications: in-app, e-mail, push and the digest

Four categories (Social, Books, ARC, Account), three channels (in-app, e-mail, push), an e-mail digest that is off, daily or weekly, per-author alerts for the people you follow, and a timezone. Nothing is ever sent one e-mail per like.

Where notifications arrive
The bell in the top bar opens your notifications in the app. Everything starts there; e-mail and push are extras you switch on.
Four categories, three channels
Under Settings › Notifications, a grid: one row per category, one switch per channel.
- Social: new followers, comments and replies on your posts.
- Books: new releases and reviews from authors and books you follow.
- ARC: request decisions, deadlines and new matching campaigns.
- Account: reading recaps, policy updates and account notices.
The channels are In-app, Email and Push. Push reaches only the devices you turn it on for, and only carries what the bell would show. A password reset link is not a notification: it is sent whenever you ask for one, whatever the grid says.
The e-mail digest
Instead of, or as well as, individual e-mails, one message gathers what is new: Off, Daily or Weekly. It only ever includes things you can already see in the app. With a digest on, social and book e-mails are bundled into it instead of arriving one at a time; ARC and account e-mails always send straight away, because a deadline reminder that waits for a digest can arrive after the deadline. Booklabria never sends one e-mail per like or follow.
Authors you follow
For each author you follow, choose what to be told about: New releases, Preorders, ARC copies (when they open an advance-copy campaign), Deals, Series updates, Events, Journal posts, Chart moves. See Following and notifications.
Authors who may e-mail you
Below the alerts, the list of authors you have chosen to share your e-mail address with, each with Withdraw. See Sharing your e-mail with an author.
On your phone
Push needs the installed app and a browser that supports it; the section says which state this browser is in (installed, push on for this device, blocked in the browser's site settings, or not available on this deployment yet). See Installing the app on your phone.
Timezone
Deadlines and the digest follow the timezone you pick under Timezone (search the list).

- Following, and what you are told: Follow authors (their pen name), readers and series; their news reaches your feed and the bell, grouped and switchable per author. Notifications live under the bell, everything can be marked read at once, and e-mail is a digest, never one message per event.
- Installing the app on your phone: Booklabria is installable from the browser (Add to Home Screen on iPhone and iPad; Install from the address bar or menu elsewhere) and can send push notifications where the deployment supports them. Native iOS and Android apps are on the way, with no date.

- An e-mail I expected did not arrive: During the beta e-mail may be off for the deployment; when it is on, check the digest rhythm and spam; reset links expire in an hour.
