Reading Life posts

The composer at the top of Home posts a reading moment to your profile and your followers' feeds (started, finished, progress, a recommendation, a question, a poll and twenty more formats), each with an audience: Public, Followers or Only me. Edit or delete yours from the ⋯ menu.
The short answer
Posting
- On Home, press New post (top right; the composer also opens at the top of the feed).
- Pick the format. There are twenty-four, in six groups: General (a general post), Reading (started a book, reading progress, finished a book, set a book aside, a reading streak), Shelves & Goals (a shelf update, a reading goal, a goal reached, an achievement), Recommend & Discover (a recommendation, a hidden gem, a new favourite, looking for recs, can't wait for), Discuss (a quick reaction, share a review, a line worth sharing, ask readers, genre and tropes, a poll) and ARC (ARC progress, ARC finished, ARC review). You fill in only what the format needs; a book is attached where the format has one.
- Choose the audience: Public, Followers or Only me.
- Publish.
Reactions and comments (one level of replies) work on every post; save a post, share it by link, or report it from its ⋯ menu.
Editing and deleting
Your own posts and comments have Edit and Delete in their ⋯ menu; a pinned post stays at the top of your profile.
Where posts appear
On your profile under Reading Life (a module you can move in Profile Studio), and in the feeds of people who follow you, ranked by a documented rule: newer first with a 24-hour half-life, a small weight for genuine engagement, never more than two posts in a row from one person, recommendations capped at about a fifth of the feed.
Authors
Author accounts do not post to Reading Life; their voice is the Author Journal, which reaches followers the same way.

- Following, and what you are told: Follow authors (their pen name), readers and series; their news reaches your feed and the bell, grouped and switchable per author. Notifications live under the bell, everything can be marked read at once, and e-mail is a digest, never one message per event.
- Who sees what: profile visibility: Settings › Privacy sets your whole profile to public, followers only or private, and your library, reading progress, activity and follower list each on their own. Author pages are public by nature; what an author keeps private is the library and activity.
- Writing reviews: A review is a 1 to 5 star rating (whole stars) with an optional title and a body of at least 20 characters, plus a spoiler flag; edit or delete it from the book page. Reviews of ARCs carry the ARC reader badge and one extra rule, honesty.
- The Author Journal: New entry opens the Journal composer with fourteen formats in four groups (General; Book and Story; Launch and ARC; Community), each asking only for what it needs, an audience (Public, Followers, Only me), an optional content note that hides the entry behind a spoiler warning, and a preview. Entries can be saved as drafts under Studio, Posts, and one can be pinned to your page.
