Reviews held until launch

The rule

A review of a coming-soon book, written by a reader who received an advance copy, is held until the book's release day. On that day every held review is published at once; the book's page lists them newest first, like any review. Nobody, the author included, reads a held review before then.

For the reader

• Write the review as usual from My requests, Review. On a coming-soon book the dialog says Your review goes live on {date} before you post; afterwards the row in My requests reads Reviewed, held with the badge Your review goes live on {date}.
• The review counts for your ARC reliability the moment you post it, not when it goes live; the deadline is met by writing, not by publication.
• You are told by e-mail on the day it goes live. You can edit it until then.
• Withdraw removes a held review. It is then as if you had not reviewed: the campaign's deadline applies again until you post another, and the copy in My requests reads Review due {date} once more.
• If the release date moves, your review moves with it and you are told.

For the author

• The campaign's Applications rows read Reviewed, held, a held chip beside the funnel counts them, and Analytics carries a line for them under the funnel. Never their text or their stars.
• The book page shows {n} reviews held until {date}, never their text or their stars.
• On the release day the reviews appear together, newest first, the book's rating with them. Nothing to press; the date on the book is the switch, so keep it true.
• A held review is still an honest review: asking a reader for a good one rather than an honest one is a guidelines violation, held or not.
